Day 1 We hunted a reservior primarily targeting Canvasbacks. We had scouted the day before and located a few birds. The lake was not holding the numbers that we have seen in years past. Two of our hunters (My dad and Mikes bro) had never taken a Can before, so our goal was get them their birds. The wind was NNW 20-25mph, not ideal conditions on this lake. After a very bumpy 4 mile run we got to our spot. After several hours the two managed to harvest their canvasbacks. Heres a pick of Dads.

Day 2 & 3 Due to the lack of birds on the reservior we decided to pull of stake and head for the salt of the South Texas coast. The winds were still very stong out of the NNW. Tues wind speeds were approaching 40mph!!!!!!! Two days of hard hunting landed us only 7 birds. Bufflehead, a couple bluebills. NOT the pintails, redhead, wigeon we are after..... V Boards in action JW Decoys Bluebill doing his thing The boys in the blind Buffies Boredom sets in for Kev

Day 4 The wind died down enough to hunt a spot we have been told is holding a TON of birds. So we gas up for the 52 (yes five-two) mile round trip boat run. After an hour+ one way boat ride (my back flippin HURTS) we get to our location. 2 hours later, we're limited!!!! Redheads, Pintails, Bluebills, and Wigeon. This is why we came!!!! This day made my whole year!! Watching my ole man take his first bull pintail and bull redhead. Plus the look on his face watching thousands upon thousands of ducks moving about. At one point dad and I were 'guarding' the decoys alone. We got dive-bombed by about 60-70 redheads. Simply amazing. I look over and Dad never touched his gun, he just sat with his mouth open, and says, "Holy S&^*" Dads 1st Pintail Dads 1st Redhead - This one's going on the wall Kevin Pintail My Redhead My Pintail 4 man Pintail limit
