My son invited his buddy to squirrel hunt with us this past weekend. He got a 10/22 a few Christmas ago and had not yet had anyone to take him hunting. So after I talked with whitetail1, we opted out of a final deer hunt and set out after the bushytails. Jarod, my son, was driving tacks with my .17hmr and Jake, his buddy, was doin' the same with his Ruger! Jakes first shot on a grey, I joked, pop him in the left eye. Doggone if he didn't bust him through the left eye and out the other side from about 20 yards!!! Here they are with the bag for the day. And then I set out to teach the boys how to properly clean a squirrel. And here they are with their respective "prizes." We put 'em in the freezer for now as they are both researching the best squirrel gravy and biscuits recipes. It was so cool to watch Jake and listen to him get his first hunt. I will say he and Jarod both impressed me with their shooting ;D!!!

Awesome! Raising them in the woods will keep them out of a lot of trouble.
