A couple of older guys were telling me about cutting short lengths of pipe, painting them yellow and using them for decoy ear corn for duck or goose hunting. I have never heard of this. Would it be legal ? I even heard that they make decoy corn. Anyone know about this and if it is legal?

PS.. I'd say they can't eat it so I think it would be legal. Morrison can tell you for sure.

I have seen guys use it, and not good results. The birds know where the food is, in the 34 years of waterfowling, I have seen a bunch of weird stuff. fake corn, blue tarps. But never seen the fake corn produce any results down my way, I may be wrong. but the birds are very smart, and they know where the food is, but you never know if it works untill you try it.

GHG used to put a fake cob in every box of full bodies. Never used the ones I got and never heard of anyone attribute the success they had that day to fake corn. It just becomes one more thing to put out and pick up.

To add additional realism to your fake corn spread try putting out those Styrofoam packing peanuts which resemble goose turds.

Hunted with a guy one time that took old toilet paper rolls, painted them yellow, and tossed them out there. I don't think it made any difference, but innovative I suppose.
