Is there a state agency that can help me with building a pond for a wildlife water source. I don't mean funds but help with engineering like location and levee size. I plan to do the work myself but need technical help. Thanks

You'll need to contact the "Soil & Water Engineering" which is part of the Department Of Natural Resources.

My buddy had one put in with financial help of the soil office (federal program) and by rights he is supposed to allow public useage. The kicker is, the public doesn't know who paid for it, so he doesn't have an issue with strangers using his pond. I paid out of pocket for mine and had a local excavation contractor put it in.

Go to your counties NRCS office. They will help with engineering. They are part of the USDA and are federally funded, but there is an office in every county.
If you want some tips on how to construct it so it holds water, just ask.

Thanks esshup, I have dealt with our local NRCS office before and found them to be very helpful.
