OK guys. I don't really want to get into a Ford, Chevy, Dodge argument here. I am new to duck hunting and haven't really gotten into any calling yet. I have been playing with a cheap Lucite duck call and a teal whistle. I have seen everything from Duck Commander calls for around $30 to custom calls for almost $200. I would just like to have a reliable call that will last and work. I need both a duck (Mallard) and a goose call. Any help greatly appreciated. Mike

Haydels DR85 for duck call. Inexpensive and reliable
I have a Winglock wood short reed call, it was about $30 several years ago. Not sure how the prices are now but they are easy to use. If you are going the route of a flute call go with Big River unless you can find an old Olt flute.

I drive a Nissan pick up. RNT, Echo, or Lynch Mob. Always reliable and always sound great. Easy to use for a novice or veteran. Here is what I recommend for someone that is just getting into calling.... RNT - RICH N' TONE CALLS High End-Macrohen: Double Reed Price: $115 www.rntcalls.com/products/items.aspx?id=146Low End-Quack Stacker: Double Reed Price: $25 www.quackheadcalls.com/index2.html---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ECHO CALLSHigh End-Meat Hanger: Double Reed Price: $135 www.echocalls.com/meat_hanger.htmlLow End-Poly Open Water: Single or Double Reed (shot hundreds of ducks calling them in with this call) Price: $30.00 www.echocalls.com/polycalls.html---------------------------------------------------------------------------- LYNCH MOB CALLS Stranglehold: Single or Double Reed Price: $120 www.lmccalls.com/stranglehold.htmGood luck finding a call. Go to the boat sport and travel show this year, and blow a few calls while you're there. That's what I did with Lynch Mob, and now it has become one of my favorite calls.
