park duck, that only counts for half a band. It has to be 2 states away before they really count!

park duck, that only counts for half a band. It has to be 2 states away before they really count! Probably banded at Saurheber WMA. Been a few years and I don't know if they still do it, but they used to have a big kids day over there when they banded the ducks. Saw pictures of the event at the office while deer hunting over there. Quite the event.

That is pretty cool. I've seen some organized goose banding where they bring in a load of kids but never duck banding.

Smith Mills, KY would be the closest town. The refuge sits right on the river and has water pumped in starting around the middle-end of October to flood the fields. It is quite the site for this area if you are a waterfowler. Thousands of ducks and geese. I take my boy over there a couple of times a fall just to see and listen to them. I don't waterfowl hunt anymore, but I've heard there's a big deer or two there.
