My goose I shot a couple of weeks ago came from Ellis, IN. He was killed 5 miles from there. A local bird.

Congrats. In 2005, we got into a BUNCH of banded birds in early season. They were all banded in Ellis and we shot them literally a stones throw away. Migration was REAL short. ;D All the numbers were REAL close together. I got a neck collar from Ellis too. The one I killed this year was banded in Camden, MI and shot in P.Lake. A little longer migration, but still short.

Hotshot........ Did you kill your banded just a few weeks ago and already heard back about it? I killed one and reported it in early goose and still haven't heard about it..... Guess I need to call them.

Travis, I called mine in this year and it took 2 weeks to get the paper work back. Last year it took over 2 months. I'd definitely call if I were you.

I just called the 800 number on the band of my mystery goose. The guy said that he had tons of people say the same thing, that they had reported their bands via website and hadn't heard anything back. He took the info again and said I'd have the info within 2 weeks..........
I think after I kill my next bander.....(hopefully soon).... I'll stick to the 800 number. At least it went right to a live person, no automation!

I call them in from the field with a cell phone that way all the info is fresh in my little brain. I tried to look mine up this year on the internet and came up empty. Cell call from the field is the way to go.

Hey, Hot Shot. Did you help band this year in Ellis? That would be too cool if you shot a bird that you had banded.
I don't remember on my Ellis birds if there was a banding person's name on the paperwork. But the paper from my Camden bird had the lady's name that actually banded the bird.
