I bought a pair of the 5 mill neopreme waders from bass pro. I like them buit they are hard to get your feet in. They don't have the boot bottoms like the cabelas waders. boot is only at very bottom. Question is, has anyone ever used any powder in waders to help them slip on or would it hurt anything. I have plenty of room in the boots when I get them on but the neopreme bunches at the ankles and makes it hard to get in them. Any tips or help appreciated. Mike

I don't think powder would hurt anything as far as staying water proof and warmth but I don't see it helping your problem. I am having a hard time understanding your boot set up. Are you saying they are ankle high boots where normal waders are a bit taller?
If that is the case I think you are stuck pulling the neoprene up as high as you can and fighting the shoes on. I'd return them they sound like a Pain in the ol' butt. If you can't return them, sell them and buy a new pair. Nothing worse then fighting with waders.

yeah, you got the idea. The boot section of my two buddies waders from Cabelas coms up about half of the calf where mine are just reinforced to the ankle. I've used them several times so I guess I will fight them for awhile and see what happens. Thanks for the answer. Mike

Try a velcro strap around your ankles to hold your pant legs in place before putting your waders on. Powder might help as long as your waders are dry.

I agree with FeatherDuster. Get some garters or wader pants. The wader pants I wear have stirrups that go around the bottom of your foot. If that isn't the problem, then I recommend Cabela's brand or Hodgeman. If I understand correctly, then the Cabela's brand are actually made by Hodgeman too. Please don't buy Drake waders. I used to have the same problem, but then I started buying stout waders. Just my thoughts. Wader Pants I Have: $34.99 at Cabelas. goo.gl/1TxOPIf you end up wanting to buy new waders I bought these this year, and so far they're fantastic. Cabela's Super Mag 1600 goo.gl/Cuh93Here is a link to the Ankle Garters that Featherduster was talking about. $3.99 at Cabela's. goo.gl/mFYsM

joeyb Wader liners are great...as long as it's not too warm out then you'll cook yourself. I wear the Super Mag 1600 waders and just roll the neoprene all the way down and slip the boots on. I usually sprinkle some baby powder in the bottom of my boot a couple times a year.

That's the truth Boilermaker... I wore just the 1600's without the wader pants the first time in teal season this year, and I'd like to have died it was so hot. I wore swimming trunks the rest of the time. I patched my 7 year old Hodgeman 600's for next years teal season. We'll see if the patch holds, if not I'll splurge on a pair of those uninsulated waders for teal season.
With the wader pants + the waders + 1 pair of under armour long john pants, and I can't get cold.
