If these temps hold for the week, it will all be locked up except for rivers. And thats when it gets HOT!!! Who wants to come up north this weekend? $35 for econ motel south of town. Photo shoot on the river this coming weekend.

Right now I've got 8 honkers taking up residence on my pond. THis weekend may lead me to the warm water lakes of Illinois to maul some birds. Rumor has it there are quite a few there now. ;D Hopefully I will have time to snap a few pics too.

This is my first year duck hunting ..... the place I deer hunt has about a 30 acre backwater slough that is just filled with ducks.
We had to break through 1/8 inch of ice Saturday morning but this morning there was no ice on it.
WOW .... talk about ducks.
LOL, there wasnt any ice on the slough but we dont have a blind yet .... standing belly deep in water everything we touched iced over in a matter of seconds. My gloves froze to the receiver of my gun. The safety froze. The shells froze in the magazine.
