Has anyone else heard about the proposed rule of only allowing bowfishing from dawn until dusk??? My understanding there there is a public meeting in Plainfield (December) to put it in place. No night time bowfishing...come on

From what i have read it would only be for rivers. Wich sux since that is mainly where i bowfish. The baa and other bowfishing groups are well aware of this proposal and are prepared to fight it. Im not sure what caused this to be brought up, but it would be nice to hear why.

Wow, hadn't heard that it was a river only proposal. Not that they should limit it at all, but I not a fan of bowfishing on the lakes any way. Common sense would make me think that people complaining about noise or lights would come from lakes. Rivers I partake with have almost no houses on them. I'll be interested in hearing their reasons, especially with Asian Carp working more and more north they should be promoting bow fishing. Even heard they are or are going to let people break out the shotguns.

whats the latest on this. i know a few people trying to stop this silly rule. night time is when we shoot the majority of our asian carp. if they stop night time bowfishing indiana rivers will be screwed in alot less time than what would normally take with the asians. at one time they were going to try to allow shooting them with shotguns but now they want to do this. makes no sense to me.

From what I understand they also made a missprint in the rules that made bowfishing completely unlawfull on rivers now. I'm not 100% but as of right now it may be law. And if it isn't corrected it could take several years to change.
