Starting Sept. 2013 they will not have boats or blinds any more. They will be hunting by zones and BYOB bring your own boat.

It doesn't surprise me after seeing how the boats and blinds are treated by "some" that use or should I say abuse them. Duck hunting is not a big priority sport for the state of Indiana however it is a costly one in terms of man hours AND $ spent working on blinds, boats, properties and having staff there at 4:00am. It might seem unfair to some but as far as I am concerned a boat to a duck hunter is like decoys, calls, waders etc. it's just another tool you should have besides that rule might weed out those that only want to go out to a blind just so they have an excuse to screw up a real duck hunters chances at being successful.
Another thing that might be good is allowing you to set up your blind anywhere you want within an area assigned to you. The down side might be people setting up on top of each other.
DDragon correct me if I am wrong but don't they do this at LaSalle? If so how has that been working out?
LET THE BOAT RACES BEGIN.

No ducks at Lasalle to fight over. But a few times I heard of guys setting up on top of some else.

Another thing that might be good is allowing you to set up your blind anywhere you want within an area assigned to you. The way some of the public lakes I hunt over here go like this. One lake has a daily draw for x amount of "blinds". Those blinds are marked with a stake and you must set up within 10 yds of that stake. Blind built on the boat of course. Another lake has a draw in the summer time. Whoever draws that blind builds/rebuilds it before the season. Then, they have first dibs at it for the season. If they do not claim it x amount of minutes before shooting time, it becomes open to whoever wants it/gets drawn for it. In this scenario, logs are kept of who hunted it when and what was killed that day. I guess that way there's a half-assed way of keeping track of anyone that's causing damage and problems.

Show me 4 parties that will agree to set up together and not disagree of who is were. All names into a barrel. They pick their blind as they are drawn. Don't get drawn, go home and try again tomorrow.

It'll just be like Goose Pond. Where there can be 4 parties in a certain pool. You just have to work it out with the other guys going in the same pool at the parking area before hitting the water. Never had a fight about it with anyone, and we've even set up with some guys we didn't know before.

Is there a possibility they will drive numbered stakes into the ground or maybe put them out onto the water, and that is what you will draw for?
