hello, i recently got written permission to hunt 260 acres. the landowner lives in california. he told me to run anyone off the property that i seen. my question is this....can i legally tell people to leave the property? if they do not leave then can i call the dnr? can charges be brought against them by me calling the dnr? do i have to have a certain form to be able to do all the above legally? thanks

I recommend the following:
Get a letter from the landowner stating that you have permission to hunt the property. The letter should also explain what the landowner is authorizing you to do (ie, have people leave, allow others to hunt, ect) The letter should also state that the landowner is willing to prosecute anyone who does not have the proper permissions. This letter should also contain contact information for the landowner. Have the landowner actually sign the letter. If you follow these small steps, things will be less frustrating for. The law requires that the landowner has to be the one that wants people prosecuted.
Hopefully this will help you out. let me know if you need additional information.
