It ain't looking good. Only saw one woodie on the whole farm.
With the weather next week in the 70's it looks like a carbon copy of last year.

A couple weeks ago before this cold snap and rain I reported that I had seen several hundred Teal as well as a few other ducks, well....... all that has changed. Two nights ago I returned to that same spot and only saw about 20-30 teal and a few others mixed in. I am hoping that opening day there still might be a few around and with a little shooting on other marshes maybe there might be a little action. The anticipation and preparation is as much fun as the participation.

The Kankakee area has received several inches of rain this week so I would think water will be no problem. On the bad side if the corn has not been picked from the corn blinds this is going to set them back in getting it done. I would guess the bird count should be better than in years past because of all the teal.
