Can anyone recommend a good tannery to use?
I have heard of Micro-tan over in Illinois, do they have a good rep?
Do you prefer to just send the frozen cape and let them do it all or do you prefer to turn and salt it yourself?
Just to be clear, this is for doing taxidermy work.

I've used www.usafoxx.com a couple times. Very reasonable and quick turnaround. On deer hides I already had them scraped and salted and shipped them frozen.

Not for mounting.

No I personally haven't, but a good friend of mine has sent them furs several times and has been pleased with the results.

I use ------ www.wildernesstaxidermyonline.com/He can/will do green to ready to mount. Does excellent work and quick turn around time. Some are as long as 6 months, so find out before you send them off.

Mike does deer capes green to RTM for $65, but you pay the shipping both ways.

Mike does deer capes green to RTM for $65, but you pay the shipping both ways. I spoke with Mike yesterday afternoon, seems like a good guy. He sent me some references today. I have one cape right now and I may just wait till I have a couple more so I can send multiple capes to save on shipping. Thanks again for the help Tom.

If I only had one to do, I'd Krowtann it and shave it myself.
