Oh, how I wish this were me! My nephew sent me this pic of his dog Blaze with their morning bag of woodcock near Grayling. He ended his first day with a limit on woodcock and then dropping a grouse at the end of the day. I haven't been up there for 2 years, have turned down a half dozen hunts so far, and all my buddies are telling me it is one of the best seasons ever on woodcock. Unfortunately too much work and remodeling my son's bathroom on top of that. Nice of them to send me some pics, though !

Indeed - great photo and awesome looking GSP! Mike Thanks for noting Mike. I forgot to mention, Blaze is a Braque Francais (French Pointer). They are a bit smaller than the GSP, but look very similar other than that. Apparently, they come from a quite ancient hunting line!

This photo would make a great screen saver. I like the way the dog has his nose turned up and away like he is saying NO BIG DEAL.

A coworker of mine just got back from the Grayling area on a grouse and woodcock hunt this past weekend. Said they hunted in the rain Thursday and Saturday but still put up a lot of birds; Friday was great weather I understand.
I am heading to Winner, S.D. in the morning...Pheasant opener here I come!
