This is just the start. I took the existing scissor fold up blind that came with the boat and modified the frame. To eliminate drilling/screwing into the boat, I built a base from 3/4" conduit. It's bent and welded together with a solid steel rod inside of the tubing at all of the joints. I cut the fold up portion to the heights that I wanted and used the existing hinge at the back mounting point. On the front point, I drilled all of the way through both tubes then bolted it together. I left it loose enough so that it folds up and down easily and tack welded the nut onto the bolt (loctite could have worked as well). I will use a ratchet type rope to pull the eyelets together upon arrival to the hunting spot. I still have to weld the 2 rear c-clamps to the base and paint the base. Once that's done, I'm going to put a canvas tarp on with a net. Fast grass will be zip-tied to the net. The way it sits, I have had it on and off numerous times for fab work. It takes all of about 2 minutes to do with no help. So far so good (except that someone used the rest of my gas and I have welded the majority of it with fluxcore. I will post pics of the rest of it when I get it finished. The boat is a 1990-ish 1751 alumacraft with a 35hp motor that's all new to me.
