Blind is covered, decoys are rigged and ready, blind bag is packed and calls are tuned.
I went out last night to an area that I always love to watch in the evenings at this time of the year just to get an idea of how many birds are around. In years past I would see between 50-75 ducks. This year I saw between 300 to 400 birds almost all of them were Blue-winged Teal.
Last week while on vacation traveling through Wisconsin and Michigan I saw a lot of geese probably locals. There were guys lay-out boat hunting the bays of Lake Superior and guys hunting the Mississippi. I spoke to several and the reports were good.
