The a-c part in the dash is the evaporator, the CONDENSOR is in front of the radiator. The evaporator is about the hardest part of the whole a-c system to change because it requires taking a lot of the dash out on most cars nowadays. That can include a LOT of labor. The parts are made very cheap nowadays, plus there are o-rings or seals, hoses and aluminum lines that corrode, so there are many ways to have a leak. The nitrogen just pressurizes the system, you do not use dye with nitrogen to locate leaks because it does not circulate like freon when you run the system. At our shop, the service manager would adjust your bill fairly if we didn't diagnose or repair correctly, and you would not leave until everyone was satisfied with the outcome.

So B&M just called me and said they found it. They say they had it under like 350lbs of pressure and had nitrogen coming out of the vents which means the condensor they put in is bad. Well they replaced it again and it still leaks. They now said have detected a leak of freon for the first time under the gas tank. They said they will have to drop the tank tomorrow. How frustrating!

what is freon doing above the gas tank? I haven't ever heard of a/c lines being above the tank?
