In Chicago there is a group that rescues and rehabs injured birds of all sorts that migrate along the shores of Lake Michigan and are injured when they fly into the tall buildings.
Yesterday in the news this group stated that they are already recovering several species of birds that are migration 2-3 weeks in advance of their normal time frame.
One of the things they do to reduce loss and injuries to the migratory birds is have the hi-rise buildings turn off their lights at night. They are going to put this in effect earlier then ever before.
Could this be any indication of what we might expect waterfowl might do this fall?

Alot of the small swamps and isolated ponds we usually teal hunt have little or no water. Hope we get allot of rain in the next couple weeks. Scouted for honkers this evening and found a field holding a couple hundred, but unlike last year allot of sileage and seed corn fields being harvested. Looks like it will be a friday night drive and hope they return for the opener!!

Been seeing plenty of teal. If I could shoot straight I'd have more than I've taken. Looking forward to this week and weekend.
