Steuben County Duck Day... 10 th year. I'd like to invite everyone to show up on May 17 or 18th.- Cedar Swamp in Steuben County. 9/10 of a mile east of Fremont Indiana. Three school districts' 7th grade students participate in a 6 class school day in the swamp. They build wood duck boxes, see over 20 bird mounts shot in the area while biodiversity is discussed, plant trees, get to run arond in prarie grass, and see how wetlands benefit nature and humans. Each kid gets a T-shirt, and those who want it- a free one year greenwing membership. The shirts and memberships are sponsored by the DeHaan Family Foundation which has set up a trust fund to pay the costs of the event (approx. $5000.00 per year). Just PM me if you can help out. My goal this year- take what you as an adult learn- share with teachers in your area and replicate the event. I even have learning based worksheets and activities that I've created. Also DU greenwing pages have project webfoot for you to down load from. Scott
