I've never done the bowfishing thing...does water clarity play a role in how successful you are? I'm assuming muddy is not good.

depends on your light setup really. we fish at night mostly and a good spotlight or set of lights run off of a genny usually cut through the muddy water pretty good. if the water is clear and you find a muddy spot that means there are fish there.

by the way. if you dont want to sink money into another hobby NEVER go bowfishing. it is highly addictive. but it is a blast.

Patoka has alot of really clear water under normal conditions. Pretty much everything from the dam up to the causeway will usually be really clear. Little Patoka and the Patoka river on the other hand can be stained to muddy. I believe its Raporter here on H-I lives near the lake and spends many days fishing it...
I have a bass tourney there the 21st of April and can let you know what I see if that would help you any.
