I have a few of these on my property in Miami co. This is by far the biggest. Im expanding my food plot and this one stands in front of the saw. They hold thier leaves all year and produce no fruit nut or flower. Not the dead looking one, I know its a sugar maple but the other one beside it. Attachments:

The one next to the dead maple looks a lot like tulip poplar to me. It doesn't look like a beech or maple tree. Agree the small ones with the leaves are beech trees. They do produce small beech nuts that wildlife loves and the bigger beech trees are often great den trees for squirrels and coons if you are into that. Plus you can carve your initials into the trees and it will be there for as long as the tree is there....

Don't suppose you could get a close up of the buds/twigs on both the smaller trees and the large one?? Buds are completely different between tulip poplar and beech. The poplar has what looks like a "duck's bill" for a bud while the beech is pretty long, narrow and pointed.
