The IDNR says -"Currently Indiana DNR has not collected any data pertaining to the effectiveness of spinning wing decoys. Additionally, the USFWS has not passed a federal regulation banning the use of spinning wing duck decoys. Further information is required before Indiana DNR can support or refute the abolishment of these decoys."
Question - Should Robo-Ducks be banned for waterfowl hunting in Indiana.

I have one and I tell ya, its just about like anything else. Sometimes I think it was THAT that did the trick and other times I think it was THAT stinkin spinner that screwed me up....... Ban it if you like but I think its a stupid move because ducks want to be where they want to be period.

Just another toy in the arsenal. I've shot a bunch of ducks over mine. I've also watched a lot of ducks fly right on by.
I think they work great at the start of the season, but as time goes on, they loose their effectiveness. Where I've seen them work awesome is in early goose season as a confidence set up for geese. I once shot a limit of geese using only a roto duck and a dozen duck decoys. I did not even have a goose decoy out.
Banning these would be dumb in my opinion.

Are they any different from motorized remote control tails on deer dekes , or fully mechanized deer dekes with moving heads and tails ? Naahhh . Leave 'em alone .
