20 mins into his first deer hunt and he had this big doe down,,,made his daddy happy and his papaw proud,,skipped all the way to her never lost the smile he sports in this pic,,,was a pretty awesome day we were hunting from a ground blind in our little slice of heaven, i had previously purchased him an apprenctice license to turkey hunt with ,,where he was able to get a shot at a young jake but i think his excitement got the best of him and the jake got away,,so we practiced all summer with a .22 with iron sights ,,the practice all paid off in the end

Great story. The smile says it all. Hopefully that is the first of many for the young man.

That is a nice Doe your son shot. However I have trouble convincing myself that a five year old boy would have the ability to hunt let alone kill a Deer at that age. That shotgun looks bigger than your son. But nice Doe anyway.

its called a ground blind,,,shooting all summer long with a .22 getting in the practice he needed..and learning the safety of shooting and handling a weapon, and that started at age 3 i dont really feel i need to explain much more ...but im 100% sure he would be more than happy to demonstrate for you>!! you surely are not jealous of a five yr old,,,,, ? why you are at it why dont you check out the turkey he shot at 40 yds last spring.....o yeah,,i got him shooting a bow and arrow pretty darn good now too....so mayb next deer season he will be posted on here with his first bow kill>!!!!!! would that make you mad also?.....you apparently have no patience when it comes to children..?? he is an awesome shot,,,my other son on the other hand,,well..as you can see there are no pics of him...lol...but mayb this turkey season will be his yr...he is only 4...is that ok >>>> LMFAO

I believe your son shot that deer waynecountytrio and you have every right to be proud of him. It amazes how people feel free to acuse others of breaking the law on this site, maybe THEY are the ones who have a guilty concious.

With you with him I don't doubt it one bit, my youngest shot his first buck with a bow at age 12. Hoyt banshee 35 lb. I was in one stand, he was in another, my oldest was in another stand, same woods. His buck scored 162, hunted,by himself, kids mature faster now-a-days than we did. I didn't have someone to help me learn to hunt deer, my dad died when I was 10, I have been there for my boys.

Awwwww, a wonderful story indeed! You're a good man to teach your son early. I'm 53, never knew my dad and still haven't shot a deer. ...I think I'm cursed.

Welcome to the brother hood little man! May the thrills of the hunt never leave you and be sure to try your best to leave the woods better than when you found them! Kudos to you also dad! My dad got me started hunting and I have always said that is the best gift he has ever given me. My dad is gone now and I have no kids of my own but I sure do get proud of pictures and stories like yours!
