Most reliable gun I have ever owned is an 870 Remington. I've never seen a well oiled 870 jam and I've hunted with and around them for 20 years. Good luck with what ever gun you buy, there are some very nice guns listed above but I truely believe the 870 will out perorm any gun in the field over time. Always reliable when it's well kept and easaly stripped down and cleaned when it's not. Just my .02.

Not to argue the point that the 870 is a great gun because I agree BUT, I see them fail every year in the duck blind. Same scenario every time, the gun gets some moisture either in the bolt or slide and freezes solid. Happens enough that I started carrying a small LP heater in the boat to thaw them out. I can honestly say this has never happened to my auto. Don't underestimate that Baikal, I'd own one in a minute.
