Anyone know anything about these pumps? I had never heard of them until I did a "pump 28 gauge" search. I was wondering if the 300CY in 28 gauge would make my daughter a good first shotgun. Prices on about any other 28 gauge is though the roof for what the gun is. Other alternative is to get her a 20 and just cut the reloads down to reduce recoil.

I am not exactly sure of the 28 gauge pump guns, however I do know that charles daly used sell akkar semi auto shotguns under their brand. I have one of their 20 gauge semi auto shotguns. I love the gun, however my bolt handle broke. Doing some research on them I found out this was a pretty common problem. I bought the gun when CD was still in business, but when the handle broke, CD had went out of business and you couldn't get parts for them. It took me awhile to find out that the gun was actually made by akkar and not CD. The only company that sells parts for these guns in the U.S. (that I am aware of) is samco global arms. They are based out of miami. I got ahold of them and was trying to get a new handle and they kept jacking me around. I sent them an email in january and they said they would get their first parts shippment in march/april, then they said it would be may/june, parts never showed up then they said july/august. They said they would contact me as soon as they received the shippment. I ended up finding some surplus CD parts on numrich. As for Samco, I still haven't heard anything from them. All in all I love the gun, it is a pain in the rear to get parts for, esp if you have to get them through samco. Just some stuff to think about.
