From what I've heard from folks in Greene County, southern Indiana has a breeding population. Not far from where the mountain lion was captured on the trail camera people have seen a mom and her cubs frequenting a pond on their property.

An Indiana Consevation Officer told me that a good friend of his seen a Mountain Lion in far southwest Brown County in the Hoosier National Forest. This was back in 2004, the CO said it was probably an escaped or released pet, or a Wild MT Lion that was passing through Indiana, from another state.

IN wildlife biologist Josh Griffen told me that he has gotten several reports of MT Lions from Green County in the past 5 years. He said some were credible. Josh actually works at Atterbury FWA, but he covers several other counties also. It is easily possible. If MT Lions continue to move east. They will end up in Indiana. If they get to IN, they could survive, as long as they had food, and water, and habitat. Cougar can and will leave in urban areas, and near people. So they could survive in the Crane Navy Base, or in the Hoosier National Forest. IMO

My brother swears up and down that he seen a cougar this year while squirrel hunting in Northern Perry County. He said it was a large cat with a long tail just like a cougar.

And the fact that there are 3 in the Crane base means Obama will not be re-elected?

It's my understanding there is a large population of Cougars in Monroe County...... :-) Their preferred habitat seems to be the Hoosier Bar & Grill in Ellettsville.
