Got this big female this morning while checking out my treestand deep in a Jefferson county ravine. I heard her barking and moved closer, whereupon she disappeared. I stood watching the bluejays squawk in the treetops for about ten minutes, hoping the squirrel would show itself. Just when I was getting ready to move on I saw some movement. She walked convienently out onto a dead limb and I got her at about thirty yards. I was shooting a Henry with CCI .22 shorts. This rifle dispatched a few starlings this summer but this is it's first shot at game.
