My first of the season. Took him out of my tomato patch at approx. 25'. Five pumps of my .17 Crossman pellet rifle sent the projectile with deadly force & accuracy. Terminal performance was, well- terminal.
I would write a more complete report but I know that the deceased has relatives in the immediate area, so I'll be on guard duty for a while. parson

I shot my very first Fox Squirrel, with a pellet rifle, at age 12.

I should have said "First squirrel of the year." I used to hunt squirrels every year, but only do so now in defense of the garden. If memory is correct, I killed 6 in the veggies last year. I didn't really think that this cheap pellet rifle would do any more than scare them away, but turned out to be "deadly force." parson

Doesn't surprise me at all, people often underestimate air rifles for small game hunting. I have a Daisy 1,000 springer that will drive a 4 grain wadcutter pellet right through a steel starting fluid can at 25 yards, it could easily take down rabbit sized game at that range with no difficulty.

Any of you Guys own a .25 caliber air rifle? Not sure of the manufacture, but I bet these would be good for small game hunting.
