We decided to go back to a field we'd seen a bunch of birds in and once we got the spread / blinds figured out it was over in about half an hour. We estimated between 500-600 birds we saw yesterday; most flared at our spread and headed just past us and landed in the field behind us; until we re-situated. One of those days that makes the worst season in a really long time worth it. Just wish it wouldn't have waited til my last day to hunt this season!

Congrats! Seems like we're starting to pick up quite a few geese around here too.

We were set up on the wabash sunday morning and for about a hour straight there was flocks of goldeneyes flying by. Ive never seen so many of them before. My goal this season was to bag a nice one but never had a chance. Now they are here go figure. Also had tons of malards swimming around. Had one that was a malard pintail cross come swimming through. If only we had this cold snap a couple weeks ago!

Wow that would be neat to see! We didn't get any "odd ducks" this year...just your typical mallards, woodies and a common merganser. Saw one snow with the huge flocks on sunday and two wierd ones with a group of Canada's that we couldn't figure out; we were already set on taking one if they would have commited. They had a wierd sound, I think they were either Cackling Geese or a Speck maybe? Not sure, definitely a lot smaller than the canadas.
