An old hunter told me he was going to bring me some squirrel burgers to try. Anyone ever tried em?

That is a new one on me. How many squirrels does it take to make a quarter pounder?

I would be interested to see this...if the are in fact made for squirrels I'd imagine they are the size of a dime. Seriously though...let us know how they are!

Its hard enough to get the little tiny pickles, onions and tomatoes on the squirrel burgers to begin with. Its even harder to get the squirrels to sit still for a nice meal.

I've heard of "Squirrel-Pot-Pie", but never Squirrel Burgers. Must take a number of them to make a couple of sandwiches.

That is a new one on me. How many squirrels does it take to make a quarter pounder? He said he takes 10 to 12 tree rats & bones out the hind quarters & processes the batch with beef or pork fat just like he does with deer burgers. He did not say what the typical uncooked yield was.

Ive made jerky with snow shoe hare from the UP. I had over a dozen in the freezer and they were getting old so i thawed them out, boned them, run them threw the grinder and added jerky seasoning. it made some of the best tasting jerky Ive ever tasted! It actually taste like ham. h.h.

Lately I've taken to frying the backs with some eggs when I get back in the mornings from a hunt, and freezing the quarters until I have enough to make a batch of squirrel hot wings.
