Yesterday must have been the day for snappers to lay eggs. On the way to pick my mom for church I spotted one. Bringing her over to my house to get the rest of the family I spotted another. Grabbed the camera and my son and got some pics. On the way home from church there was a guy trying to herd an extremely agitated snapper off the road. I would spin and lunge at his attempts to tail it. He had bumped it, but it did not appear hurt. He got a stick and pushed it off to the side. I don't like cleaning them and the amount of meat seems so small so I have no interest in taking one.

I lost 1/2 of the biggest gill I ever caught in my lie to a big snapper years ago. The gill and the snapper were both monsters. I was also out yesterday, and saw two different snappers crossing roads up around Portage.

The snappers have been moving in my neck of the woods also. I will usually keep one or two a year and clean they are good eating.
