Any of you guys hunt small game with the 4 5/8", 5 1/2", or 6 1/2" models? Let me know how you like these little guns.

I had the 5.5" model, it was a nice revolver and great to use for hunting. Plinking wasn't much fun since it was difficult to reload fast and only held 6 shots. I now have the Ruger 22/45 with a Bushnell red dot scope on it and it is a tack driving machine and extremely fun to plink with. The single six is a classic and a great hip gun for checking traps, hunting or just about anything and the 22mag cylinder sure does come in handy for the larger varmints.

I have a 5 1/2" model. It would be the LAST gun I would sell if need be! Buy one and you will likely never look back.

I have a Ruger Single Six Hunter in .22/.22mag-the little brother to the Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter model I have in .44 mag. Too cool.
I also just happened to buy, brand new, never fired, when they first came out, a Ruger 50th anniversary Single Six.
Rugers are awesome guns.

I have an old model Single Six. That little gun has taken a bunch of small game and 'other' critters....

Has anyone ever tried one of the Rough Rider versions of this pistol? I almost bought one the other day. Of the 2 the shop I was at had, one was really smooth, and the other, not so much so. They both had the typical lousy fixed sights, and I prefer adjustable sights.

I haven't owned one yet, but I did do some research on them awhile back. The general conclusion on them seemed to be that they weren't as well made as the Rugers (of course) but were worth the price.
