I've been looking for a nice quiet .22 or .22 mag,for squirrel hunting, does anybody have any ideas?

About all of the .22's will be close to the same level of "loudness" shooting the same ammo. Obviously, pistols are considerably louder than rifles.
I'm kinda biased- of the three .22 rifles I have, they are all Marlins. Can't go wrong with them. 39A lever action, Model 60 semi-auto, and a bolt action .22 mag. All three are tack-drivers with the right ammo.
If you are looking for a .22 pistol, look really hard at the MK II series from Ruger.

not the rifle but the ammo. Try subsonic 22LRs

I guess you could go suppressed, but not for hunting though. I have shot one that you could discharge in a neighborhood and no one would ever notice.

Earplugs work well for me. Sorry hunter, just couldn't resist. 99% of the members on here are helpful, decent people. I'm the exception. All the previous replies were posted by experienced, knowledgeble people. You would do well to follow their advice. BTW, welcome to this site.

A bolt action that shoots shorts, nice an quiet.
Or like Jawright suggested. I have been thinking about getting set up with one. I have a Walther P-22 and I hear they have supressors readily available for them. Just have to get another license and shell out some bucks for a toy I don't really need. That's been my limiting factor!
