Plowed snow today and heard loud calling. The Chessy was locked in on the noise. I finally located the birds and observed 100 to 150 Sandhills headed South. This is 5 miles South of the Michigan line. I thought they were all in Florida by now. With the optomism of a waterfowler waith for the next season. ;D

Many that I talk to would like to see the season end later, like now. Maybe a split season, a week or 2 early (what would be normal for Indiana) then shut down until December.
There are now 100's of birds on the farm that we hunt. We had 3 or 4 days this year that we saw birds. I think we collectively shot at the MOST 2 limits of birds if you combine all the days hunting.

Tough hunting this year. We got into some early, but haven't since then. We've been getting one or two here and there. Haven't had a great hunt yet this year.

I heard a lot of sandhills yesterday myself. As far as ducks and geese go, they skipped Indiana if you ask me, haha. I'd like to see season back up a week or two myself; seems like the hunting always gets good about the time season is over.

Driving around this afternoon I saw 6 diff species of ducks on three diff. lakes. Positive side is maybe they will all reproduce and we will get them next year!!! I too would like to see the season either start 3 weeks later or a two-three week split in the middle. But we all know what would happen then. We would be wishing for something else!! Glad I live 20 miles north of the south zone (wife hates it!!)

WELL....WELL....WELL...... Look who came out of the closet and decided to join our site. Most of the time a new guy will start out his first posting by saying something like.....hi my name is BUCKWHEET and I love to hunt ducks, but I know your a man of few words so welcome aboard. Doubler I hope you stick around and post up at least more than once a year. WOODY gives me a $20.00 Cabela's gift card for every new member I get to sign up, CHA-CHING. I think you will enjoy this group of duck hunters I know I do. Now quit whining about the duck season that never happened, you harvested at least 7-8 what more do you want.
For those of you who don't know Doubler I will say that after sharing a blind with him for about 37-38 years he is a good guy and has been around the block a time or two.
