Got out today with plans of to put the beat down on some geese. Saw lots but they just came off the water and headed out??? Then about 200 ducks came and went until I couldn't stand it anymore so I made a move. We got one goose and two ducks for our efforts...Not what we had in mind but a great time all the same. Headed south to chase them again down in Sullivan/Vigo county. Merry Christmas All!!   |

get GET RID of the Pharagmites or in a few years you will LOSE your duck marsh

We were cover in ducks today.
Got a Wigeon 1 goose and 4 mallards today

Throbak is right about that pharagmite grass burn it, spray it, or do what ever you can to get rid of it.
Whiteman: I am gettin tired of you posting all these kill pictures,maybe next year I will start huntin Muskies and show you how to fillet them.
DDragon47: glad to see you had a good hunt. Did you go to SR 8 & 39.
Duff: there are way more geese then you can imagine up here in northern Indiana but without any adverse weather in the near further I doubt they will migrate to far.

Yea compared to last year with all the cold and snow it has been a tough year on a goose hunter in my parts. It was 35 degrees this morning when I woke up @ 0530...supposed to be 50 this afternoon. I've had to rely on duck hunting and that has been sporadic with the amount of water around. Christmas and after is usually the prime time for us though.

Me and 74 other parties did.
It was the best hunt we had all season the birds came in to the corn for the first time.
