Just prepared a nice little Christmas gift for the local coyotes. Set a bunch of snares this afternoon. Anxious to see if I get something this weekend.
Will set a few more tomorrow.

Cool steiny, I caught 6 yotes so far this year. They should start running more since it is getting colder I caught 3 in the last week.

Strung up another tonight ! Nice female. She won't be having pups this spring to eat my bunnies, quail and fawns.
This is starting to get fun.

I got two today, one male and one female. That is 3 for this week and I didnt start setting until Sunday. Ive got 6 sets out now and play to keep increasing as time goes on. I saw plenty of fresh tracks in the snow today. It seems Ive got more yotes that I thought. h.h.

Just spanked another this afternoon. Called him in with the rabbit squaller and shot him with the .222 at about 150 yards.

My beagle got in two snares yesterday and we found a dead, eaten rabbit in another snare. . If set properly, a rabbit shouldn't get caught in a snare set for a 'yote.

One of you snare guys do a tutorial if you have the time. It's been years since I trap and have never used snares. Would like to do a yote reduction too.

Here is a good article on setting snares. Make sure you read it end to end. Ive been using the leaning pole on deer trails or sets where I think deer might use. If you want to make the snare deer proof use a clamp on stop 3-4" from the end. h.h. www.michigan.gov/documents/THEBOOK12_05_144690_7.pdf
