Well if you boys down south have been waiting for that "BIG PUSH" it should happen this coming weekend if it's going to happen at all with the 2 day north zone season opening and closing this weekend. There are a good number of ducks on the state game preserves and surrounding clubs however there isn't much else as far as ducks are concerned. There are a lot of geese and for the most part they are still living fat and happy inside of city limits. Looking at the weather forecast for the next 2 weeks I don't see much change coming that will drive many birds south.

We had some new ducks over us yesterday. We also had plenty of old weary birds too. Still not many geese here, but hoping you're right. I've got all of next week off work, and plan to hopefully put some birds in the freezer.

I'm actually going to dust the bow off and go deer hunting Saturday morning...have not even got the goose decoys out yet this year...what a nightmare. Kicker is once we finally get a bird or two around here work is going to be humming and I really doubt I will get much time off.

Saw lots of birds this morning. Would not decoy to save my life. Better luck in the morning. The Push is definitely here.

DDRAGON47: earlier this week 8 & 39 was crawling with geese and the areas in northern Laporte co. were void of geese.....today just the opposite. At least 2 of the clubs should do good on ducks as should the resort. I have got to admit that I didn't see near the number of ducks as earlier this week but there was skim ice so they might have been in deeper water if you know what I mean.

I hope it helps, but I'm pretty sure the meat of "the big push" has more to do with canada than northern indiana. But hey we'll take what we can get at this point
