Ive been hunting the roush and salamonie reserveroirs lately and am trying to figure out if other hunters are seeing the birds? We havent seen anything flying until after sunset on the last 3 hunts, but we have been pushed up into the marshes and ponds because the river is to high in the areas we have hunted. Im not looking for any specific holes where you guys are seeing the birds, i just want to make sure they are around.

Answered my own question, watched 2000+ ducks fly into the marshes on the south side of fort wayne. Pulled off the highway to watch them for over ten mins, got a lot of strange looks from other drivers to say the least... evidently they dont hunt because it was a sight to see. sky was full until dark. Wish those birds would make their way about 10 miles south.

Roush and Salamonie aren't the hottest areas for waterfowling. Yes, you can have some success on those reservoirs, but typically you're gonna have a tough time shooting numbers on either place. With the weather we've had, it's been tough for most everyone, everywhere. If we were down below freezing, Roush would be on fire right now, high water and freezing temps usually brings numbers there. Salamonie I prefer at normal winter pool. And we really need the cold to bring the divers in there before the season ends.
