Hunted some flooded corn stubble along a river bottom up near fort wayne this morning. Thought before we went out that the spot might be better for an afternoon hunt after seeing 300+ pour in the field sun night, but tried the morning anyways. Long story short the ducks were moving right at sunrise coming out of the field all around us. Had two groups of a dozen or so land about 20 yds outside of range. Ended the day taking 4 mallards home. Going to try the same area again in the afternoon wed. Good amount of ducks in the air this morning, est seeing 300-400 in 2 hrs, most were on a mission headed south and not too interested in our spread which should be good news for all the folks in the south! Also still seeing some divers in the evenings which is a nice change from the last couple years. Good shooting to all!

Nice. Hoping we get new birds down this way. We should've got some with this cold front that came through. Good luck the rest of the week and weekend.

Thanks for the update...we plan on hunting a flooded field that was supposedly loaded with birds about an hour ago according to a text update from a hunting buddy. I'm hoping this cold weather will make for more comfortable hunting this weekend too.

After not firing a shot for over 2 weeks I finally killed a couple birds today. I did notice a few of what I would call new birds, hoping this cold front will displace some more birds before Sunday which is the last day of the north zone 1'st season.

Went out to the same spot last evening, saw more birds than i have seen all year, two flocks over 150+ geese, decent flock of snows and more ducks than the last week put together. Only problem was my dozen decoys and two callers were no match against the field across the river that was already full of birds. Lots of birds would fly over our setup and they hear all the commotion across the river and head straight over there. Going to try friday morning and night with a lot more decoys and more callers to try and get their attention. The birds are definently here, really not happy i have class and work the next two days
