Rabbits are second only to deer as my favorite animal to hunt in Indiana. My father and I go almost every weekend after deer season ends.

How many rabbit hunters around here? Add one more to the list ;D.Nothing gets your heart beating quicker than the sudden burst of a rabbit out from under your feet ,and I like the sound of a bellowing beagle .

I use to hunt rabbits years ago until they became in short supply. It seems that after the tough winter back in the years 1977 -78 the rabbit or quail population never returned like it once was. I sure MISS hunting rabbits, use to hunt them when I was growing up, couldn't wait until the season opened.

After there's venison in the freezer, I love chasing the bushy tails. Have never done it with a dog though...I'm always the one kicking the briars and running the ditches!! ;D After the first snow fall, love looking for those tracks, busting a few of the little guys, and cooking them in the crock pot the rest of the day!

Like jstalljon I do not rabbit hunt until after I am tagged out. But I do truly enjoy hunting the quick footed rascals.

Ive been a serious rabbit hunter the last 25 years. i raise and sell a hard hunting stain of beagles called Patch Hounds. Most are lemon and white and some are red and white. I'll post some pictures of the dogs with rabbits and snowshoe hare soon. i got a new PC and my old scanner wont work with the new one. h.h.

I love bunny bouncing. My buddy and I try to get out for rabbits atleast once a week after pheasant season closes. We have come across an excellent producing pattern for early season rabbits on state land that has helped us get some early limits.

Rabbits Yummmm
I also hunt the Bushy tailed critters. However where I am they are not to prevalent. Hard to get any numbers on a given outing. But they are to die for in the Stew and Crock pot. I still get them here , just not in numbers.

I plan to start back this season. Been gone from the hunting scene for many years due to been in the Army and being overseas. Plan to take my son hunting this season. His first hunt. The kick on his 20 ga. is a bit too much for him; so going to use a 22 LR. rifle with a scope.

I love hunting them....but normally limit my rabbit hunting to only when there is snow on the ground.
Nothing like a fresh morning snow and looking for tracks.

I'm the new guy here. I love rabbit hunting. I have raised beagles for 25 years. I go to northern Wisconsin 3-5 times a year just to go hare hunting. The beagles and I have been everywhere from Mich to West Virginia to Oklahoma and back to Minn. I go almost every week if anyone would like to get out.

New to Hunting Bunnies in Indiana. Thinking about hunting Wilbert Wright Fish and Wildlife area. Anyone hunt this location? Wonder if there are any bunnies there? Don't have access to private lands so must hunt public lands.
