Parrot, nope I no longer build them and sell them but as a hobby I wouldnt have a problem building them for fellas as long as they got all the parts together. Im just too busy now days since graduating to devote time to searching for cameras etc.. On that not as pastor stated "Fireman Jim" does build them on a regular basis. Also to clarify, Jim does offer a "special warranty" on his cams. I used to fix cameras for free, heck I even built them for free to those who were low on funds.... Its a hobby and I enjoy helping others. Also to clarify my above posts since a few on here forwarded my statemebts onto Jim...no where did I say anything about the quality of his work. I questioned his ability to offer a lifetime warranty. For further clarification on his warranty offered contact him. I also offered my opinion on the business and how I see that there ha e been few advancements in homebrew technology. Ive been building them using the same concepts for years and Im no different. Hence, my interests in commercial cellular cams. We cand built a homebre now with cellular capabilities that I find"economically" attractive. So if some of you took offense then sorry you got defensive... Just My opinion.

We are doing lots of new stuff with the homebrew stuff. We are building units that are 16mp in quality. There is one unit that can do 1080pHD video during the day with amped sound. You can flip a switch and do day and night still photos in 16mp quality with a slave flash that will get you a flash distance of over 70 feet. Flip another switch and use that same unit as a day time plot watcher time lapse camera. Flip another switch and you can use it as a trail cam with the flash distance of 35 feet. And this camera has a 1.2 second trigger time. With the High Performance Wide Angle fresnel you will never miss a critter passing by the camera. I am not here trying to stir up business. I am covered up now. I am willing to help anyone build their own unit. Seems like I answer 25 emails every night telling guys how to build these things. And I would enjoy helping any of you guys too. This is not how I make my living. I am a full time Firefighter-Paramedic for a living. Just build these on my days off. Lyman builds a very nice quality camera and I would never take that away from him!! Nor would I EVER say a negative word about another builder who builds cameras and sells them. This will be my last post on this subject. Guess I just wanted everyone to know the major strides in the homebrew cameras that alot of people do not know about. We can do so much more now than just a P32 or a P41 in a case with a board and some external batteries. Do not get me wrong, We still build those but there is a ton of more options out there. Merry Christmas to all you guys and God Bless!!!

This is the forum that got me interested in building my own trailcam. I ended up going with SnapShotSnipers SSII with a Sony W80. The hack was simple and setting the controller up was a piece of cake. The experience was nice for my first build, however, I will try to beef up my next one. After all parts, I was out less than $100, including camera. I got it used on craigslist and it works great. I thought I would post back some pictures that were taken in my yard on the 8th of Jan. I really didn't expect to see any deer, but she has been back 2 nights in a row. The first night she was there from 1 to 2, then the second night she came back around 3. This is pretty cool stuff. I live just off of 56th street and dandy trail, which is is on Eagle Creek Res and next to the park. Hopefully I will continue to see them. Here they are. Hello Please let me know if the images still do not work for you. They worked for me. Thanks. Mike

Its great to hear you got your first camera built. This is a very addictive hobby so I bet it won't be your last. I don't think your pics posted, I would love to see them. Also it would be cool if you could post a couple of pics of the unit itself. Again, congrats.
Blessings.......Pastorjim

The pics from that look great. You tackled a camera that requires a snorkle for your first build, that's quite impressive. What do you have in mind for your next project?

Hmm. That is a tough one. I might try to do an LED Array for more light. The SSII can pick up motion up to 55 feet or so, so it would be nice to have light out that far. That is really all I have thought about so far. I may still add that to this one.
Any suggestions?
As far as the camera, it was super simple. Basically solder 1 wire to the power button, 1 to the shutter, an a final to the common. Just a 3 wire hack.
