I finally have some meat in the freezer. I shot a big doe this morning. She came in and bedded down in some brush about 30 yards from me around 8:00 am this morning. At first, I was happy about it, because I thought she might draw in a buck. But, after a while, nothing was moving. It got to 10:00 and I was ready to go to the house. She was still there and I didn't want to spook her so I started grunting at her. That didn't do anything so I bleated at her several times. Still nothing. Finally at 11:30 she stood up and walked into an opening. I took the shot and she took off. After a few seconds, I heard her go down. I went to get my arrow, and I knew I had a good hit. I thought I double lunged her. I went and got my Dad to help me. I shot this doe out of the stand we moved when we found his buck under it. We went back and started tracking it. I wouldn't call what we were following a blood trail, it was more of a blood highway. We found her about 100 yards away. I had hit her in the neck. She was pretty big for a doe around here. I know what I will be eating this weekend ;D Here is where she was standing when I shot her. My arrow is stuck in the ground at the top of the picture.
