No defense for what he did and got busted for, but the press release are anti-hunting from the word go, hence I believe very little about what is written.
Quotes - Foiles lets loose his signature command: "KILL 'EM!"
He blasts his shotgun at the middle bird, spraying guts and feathers into the morning light. The duck's head helicopters away while the body sails down with a thwump. One hunter giggles. Foiles addresses his clip-on microphone. "Folks," he intones, "Fallin' Skies 5 has just begun." This was exactly the footage he wanted."
Relating duck hunting to "avian-death porn" and "a three-hour murder fest"
"amuses himself by shooting wounded birds already on their way down"
To much more to post but it's the same vein

I just got through reading the whole article while eating my lunch...at times it's almost like at least two different people were writing the article. The very beginning of it is about as blatantly anti-hunting as anything I've ever read however there are other parts that seemed to stick to just the just the facts. Like any mass-news release it has to be read with a grain of salt and know that sensationalism in the news media is the only way that something gets past an editor and printed.

no question about the anti authors choice of words, however from some reading i've done on other sites, the story is pretty spot on for the most part from my understanding.

I think the article at first is really trying to show how much Foiles had changed with his fame. If you watch his first videos they're as corny as Flyway Highway. They are like normal old hunting shows. However if you watch his most recent video it's exactly like they say in the article. It's like murder-fest. Lots of heavy metal and arrogance. I think that was all the author was trying to portray. There was a lot more about conservation and tradition in his old videos, whereas there is just killing ducks in his new videos.
Two really good quotes in this article....
1. "A bag limit looks like a cold number. But it represents a commitment to other humans, and an agreement to share nature's bounty. Shooting over the limit isn't so much an affront to an animal, or to an arbitrary statute. It's an affront to other hunters, and to the pact they've made with each other. In a word, it's greedy."
2. "Hunting is a privilege, not a right. And you (to Foiles) have abused that privilege to a great degree."

Great post, Joeyb it's too bad we live so far apart I think we'd like to hunt together, you and I think alike.
