Does anyone have a good way to get rid of feral cats(other thatn shoot on site)? I've been seeing tons of feral cats at night while driving and have several pictures of them on a trail camera. Meanwhile in those areas we have been finding fewer and fewer amounts of upland game.

Livetraps, catch them and do what ever you want with them.

I wouldn't think a cat caught in a livetrap would have much effect on deer. If you are worried about that put the trap where the deer can't see it, behind a log , in the brush, coverd with grass, just about anywhere that is out of sight.

If you decide to live trap them the best bait Ive found for cats is KFC chicken bones and wing tips. Buy yourself a bucket of original KFC and put a few bones in each trap. If there are cats around it wont take long but be advised you will get other critters too like possums and coon. I use this set up to catch ferel cats out of my pole barn and then dispose them. h.h.

Deer won't be spooked by live trap or a cat inside of one. But if you have to go back there every day you might very well spook them. Buy your trapping license and set traps and shoot any you see on site. You will catch coons, possums, and skunks w/ just about any bait that will draw a cat. Just be prepared!
A 220 conibear set in a pinch point will do a number on a feral cat population if you have a large group. Set in trails, no bait necessary and no dealing with a live animal (usually).

Where is a good place to find a conibear trap? And if i use a live trap do I still need a trapping license?

I'd ask the CO on the trapping license, if you have a trap out you are supposed to check it once every 24-hours. I would think if you are setting a trap even a live trap out in the woods or away from your house/barn/garden it would be hard to explain the lack of trapping license but that's up to you.
I've seen the traps at farm centers like Orchalins or Big R. Look online and you can find them pretty easily.

Sounds like a good excuse to get some fried chicken...
