Im looking to go hunting this weekend and i normally go to atterburry area 12 archery range but the past few years i havnt had any luck there. I know about 6 years ago when hunting with my dad there was deer all over area 12 but the past few years havnt been the greatest so i was wondering if anyone has been seeing deer there this year. Ill most likely be going to hoosier national but if you guys have been seeing deer at atterburry then ill give it a try. Me and my gf have just had our baby girl so i havnt had the time to go scout. So thanks for any help! ;D

well hoosier national didnt work out for me didnt see anything but a bunch of squirrels. but we left and went to atterburry and walked on this trail and set on this random hill and didnt see anything for awhile so we was bout to leave then started talking about our past hunting trips and out off nowhere a doe comes running down the hill and stops at the bottom and saw us and took off then about 5min later a spike came down the same place the doe did and ran up the other hill and bout the time the spike got up to the top of the hill a decent buck came running after the spike and then they took off in the thicket and we never seen them again. the buck seemed to be a 8point bout as wide as its ears. i took a vid of the spike but its a crapy vid i wasnt paying attention to the camera lol ill post it later you can kinda see him when he takes off.

Atterbury has fish and wildlife areas I can hunt without being drawn right? Its been a couple years since I've hunted down there, is it still just sign in and go?

Atterbury FWA gets a tremendous amount of hunting pressure. It can often be an extremely difficult place to hunt because of the hunting pressure.

It's not all doom and gloom though. I've seen two bucks that will be really great next year already after this season was finished. I also saw a few good deer that came out of there this year. They are there, but you really have to work for them.
