Greetings and Waidmannsheil! (traditional German greeting between hunters). My name is Rick and I am a relatively new hunter. Learned to hunt in Germany when I was 44 years old and am now 49 and completely overwhelmed in Indiana. The rules and culture are certainly different! I got 3 whitetails in Florids (2 with one bullet) but as yet have had no success in Indiana. I live near Columbus Indiana, but I work in Terre Haute and would sure like to find some places to hunt and/or some folks who would be willing to share their knowledge with me. Any farmers in Vigo/Clay county that need help getting their doe populations reduced? I am happy to take a trophy, but am much more interested in meat hunting. I use Crossbow and .44 Mag and high-powered rifle (where I can). My preferred rifle is 300 Win Mag, followed by 9.3x62, but neither is allowed in Indiana I am also willing to take on coyotes (22-250 for that) I do some reloading and am a firearms enthusiast--love to just hang out and discuss them. I work odd hours, mostly Midnight to 10 am,. Thanks for letting me ramble! Best Regards to all.

Welcome, there's a lot of good people here and plenty of good information. I live just outside Columbus near a little town called Elizabethtown. There's plenty of coyotes around (let me know if you wanna take care of them!) and I'm sure we could find you a place to get a shot at some deer.

Thanks for replying and for the welcome! I look forward to talking more with you and the folks here. What a great site!

Welcome Rick, Im Clint. I live in North Vernon and have hunted this area all my life. Columbus is only about 20 minutes or so up the road from here. If you are willing to hunt public ground, Crosley is a pretty decent place to go
