Wish I would of saw this earlier. Not knocking a product I have never used. But the Martin Jaguar take down has been known to have horrible quality control on this bow. Limbs are notorious for delaminating for no reason especially around water. Their risers have been known to be warped also. I actually looked really hard at them when they first came out and figured they would be awesome for bowfishing but the reviews have proved otherwise. If you ended up being unhappy with it, their resale value is very low also. Just trying to give you a heads up in case you read this before you buy. I'd suggest a newer PSE Cuda or an older Oneida for bowfishing. Same price range and TOUGH bows that are hard to beat for bowfishing. Both retain their value also in case you ever decide to upgrade also. If I was going to get a recurve for bowfishing I would have to say from reviews I have read that a PSE Coyote would be the way to go...

pse baracuda if you can still get one. they no longer make them. the discovery is the same bow only that its 29 pounds max draw which is fine till you get into bigger fish. expensive habit to get into if you find out you like it which you will. ive got over 2500 bucks in my $800 boat not counting bow arrows and all the other things you need if you get involved in it like i am.

never heard of a warped aluminum riser on the jaguars. In the early days they did have some problems with a few limbs but that has been remedied, and as always Martin has outstanding customer service. that said, I would suggest a used WOODEN recurve, can be bought for under 100..and they FLOAT

You can get some older recurves really cheap on craigslist. I see a lot of pearsons in the Cincy area for under $100
