Well, to start off, I have to say hats off to Woody and Tom (timex) for their great job and generosity for having the kids up there. It takes a lot of time and kindness to let kids come up to hunt on private property, and give them a goodie bag filled with everything! I am so impressed. Also, to ALL sponsors, THANK YOU! You all are awesome for the goodies for the kids, just amazing! This is a Top notch, 1st Class event. So Holden and I sat on a bean field, overcast and windy, not seeing anything, tried in afternoon, and ended up leaving earlier than I wanted, but I guess I can only keep a 12 year old contained for so long, at least he was not playing video games. And the time we spent together today was great! which is the whole point of getting them out and with a parent or mentor. We plan on going back in the morning hopefully to try and get Holden his first deer. Hopefully the rain will hold off.
Woody, Tom, you guys Rock! Thank you so much and for everyone who gave time to set up stands and blinds, you guys are great also. For those who missed out, it is like a vacation, they had everything you could think of for the kids. even got to shoot a crossbow for the first time. Thank you again Tom and Woody, and we will see you in the morning.
Brian and Holden

Sound like a good time. My Son is 12 also and is down your way with my wifes family this weekend. I was kind of disappointed he went and didn't stay up here and hunt with me. He will not miss the youth duck hunt though in a couple of weeks.

Well, woke up today and looked at radar, saw nothing but yellow and it was lightining here at my house so Holden and I decided maybe better to stay in and not get out in the weather.
I will say, Holden had a great time, and loved the whole event on Saturday, he could not believe everything he got in his goddie bag, and is just amazed at the kind people who donated everything for them. Will try again next year. Brian
