Might make a trip to my parents in Marion this weekend so I was wondering if Missy or Sally fields are any good this year?

Dunno. Hunted Winamac yesterday. Opening day tally was 99 birds in top field for 19 hunters. It didn't look good for day 2. They opened it to sundown, due to lack of birds. Hit ratio was 33% Using steel I lost some of them

FWIW Winamac runs a 50 shot limit, don't expect to burn your max allotment of shells this season. Maybe not even a box (and the shots aint easy). I took some tough shots, got on the screamers quick enough, probably could have held my fire and bettered my ratio. But I don't cherry pick. I toughed it out and was in a decent spot, but even with the lower % shots taken I only ripped on maybe 25 birds. In 8 hrs. And I had no shots for the first 4 hrs, just sat in the sun and cooked. I wonder how the lack of hunters in other fields might have allowed birds to settle and feed elsewhere, reduce shooting opps ( in yrs past birds would go field to field due to pressure- maybe no more birds but with them flying more a higher number of opps). Still a fun time, but definitely earned what few we got.

I've never hunted Salamonie, but that's where I'd go cosnidering your two picks. Never have been impressed by Miss Res.
